An increase in the number of Civil Engineering Services has given rise for the appointment of a Intermediate Quantity Surveyor. 

The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the full surveying duties of a number of challenging and complex schemes involving a variety of modern methods of Rail &amp; Civil Engineering and Maintenance. 

Your typical duties would include: 
 Subcontractor Management to include procurement and payments. 
 Liaising with statutory authorities. 
 Production of monthly valuations. 
 Cash flow forecasting. 
 Value Creation. 
 Production and reporting of Costs Value Comparisons. 
 Pre contract procurement development. 

The ideal Quantity Surveyor will: 
 Report to the Managing Surveyor. 
 Maintain good working relationships internally and externally to the company and enjoy working as a part of a team.

 Have previous experience in a Surveying role. 
 Be computer literate in software such as Word and Excel.

They are seeking to recruit four Site Managers for their Rail division. Reporting to the Construction/Contracts Manager, you will manage and be responsible for the safe, efficient, profitable and timely completion of allocated projects to the quality standards required by the Contract.

Site Managers main responsibilities will include: 
	Manage site works in accordance with Company and Site Specific procedures covering Safety, Environment, Quality and Production. 
	Review all Contract Documentation and handover information to ensure you have a comprehensive understanding of the scope and specification of and any constraints on them. Have a good understanding of the Terms and Conditions. 
	Manage labour and subcontractors, issuing necessary notices to commence, monitoring and controlling progress and quality of works on site to ensure maximisation of resources working both day and night. 
	Maintain and update all site records including the Contract Programme &amp; costings on a weekly basis. 
	Ensure that all necessary correspondence, notices, instructions and records are in place to protect our Clients contractual position with Subcontractors and Designers and the client. 
	Ensure accurate take-off and timely requisition of materials and plant to economically facilitate the works. Have measures in place to minimise wastage and keep it within tender targets. 
	Write and brief Method Statements, Work Package Plans and Task Briefings for all site works. 
	Present regular Tool Box talks to site operatives. 
	Project size £50k up to £3m.

Site Manager Requirements:
	Min HNC in a building or civil engineering discipline preferred. 
	Min 3 years working on site on Network Rail Infrastructure (LUL does not count). 
	Ability to read and understand technical drawings. 
	Computer literate in word, excel and outlook.

I am currently recruiting for a large regional contractor who specialise in a high profile commercial, healthcare and educational projects in the south of the country. They are looking to recruit a Site Manager to be second on site for a new £6million healthcare project the company has recently tendered and won the contract for. 

Based on site, you will be responsible for all aspects of programme completion, promotion and maintenance of health and safety on site, cost management, dealing with sub contractors, client satisfaction and quality control. You will report directly to the project manager who will be overseeing the whole development.

The successful candidate will be currently working for a similar sized contractor, with experience of managing sites to a value of £10 million, ideally with a history working on healthcare and similar project type. Longevity with previous companies is desirable and a good amount of UK based experience is essential. Additionally, candidates with a predominately residential history will not be considered for this position.
