Our public sector client is looking for a Civil Engineer for a 3 year Fixed Term Appointment. Extension of the contract or conversion to permanency is possible but not guaranteed.
You will provide Forestry Civil Engineering services to Forest Enterprise England and other external bodies. This role is primarily responsible for building and maintaining access infrastructure (roads and bridges) but more recently has been heavily involved in the planning and construction of large recreational projects.
You'll assist in the management of Civil Engineering works within the Forest Estate in the North Yorkshire Moors and Sherwood & Lincolnshire Forest Districts.
You’ll hold an ONC, or equivalent, in Civil Engineering, or have proven experience
in an appropriate role. A knowledge of surveying, construction and contract management with an appreciation of the techniques necessary for incorporating these skills sensitively into a rural environment, are also required. The ability to use
Computer Aided Design based packages (Autocad LT etc) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is desirable, although training can be given.
